Dream Your Damn Heart Out
Take a second and think about your wildest dream. What does it look like? Is it having a nice home with a beautiful family? Is it travelling the world? Is it being a professional athlete or successful entrepreneur?
Honestly at one point I’ve dreamt about every one of those things. I think about walking around Hawaii, possibly living in Germany, and running an uber successful business–kind of like Uber!
Are these things realistic? Some are. Does it matter? Absolutely not.
I read recently that dreaming super big has benefits.
The whole law of attraction thing certainly comes into play, but I’ll give you another perspective on it.
It puts you in a good mood, making you more positive, and nobody will disagree with the notion that happy people accomplish more. It also makes people gravitate towards you because we all love being around positivity.
What’s the worst that can happen? I don’t visit Hawaii one day? I never get to go marry a German girl and live in the country that my family is from? Whatever.
For now I’ll keep dreaming about scuba diving with fish that look like Dory in the Caribbean.
I’ll give you an example. I want to be a successful copywriter. Did I ever go to school for it? No. I have my degree in marketing, but marketing isn’t exactly copywriting.
Because I want to be one so bad it’s made me research how to make that happen. I’ve read books, joined online communities, and networked with other copywriters to name a few things. My dream is slowly becoming a reality because I want it so bad.
The same goes for life. I’m trying hard not to sound like a Disney World commercial, but dreaming big often leads to it coming true. Obviously there are a few other things in play, but if we keep dreaming and never stop, our actions will follow through to make these things happen.
Dream away.
