Who Am I?

Hello and welcome! I’m Tom Kuegler, and I’m a blogger.

Before the 18,000 Medium followers and five-figure blogging paychecks, I started as a freelancer making $10 per hour.

In June of 2016, exactly a year after I graduated, I decided to go on a cross-country road trip and become a “travel blogger.”

Three weeks after I left I became a contributor at The Huffington Post, and four weeks after that I wrote my first-ever viral post. It received upwards of 100,000 views in 24 hours.

I wrote a lot back then, but this blog NEVER got the traction I wanted. After I left San Francisco in September of 2016, I largely put blogging on hold until I got home in October.

How I Got 18K Followers On Medium

When I got home, I realized I’d visited more than 25 states and 15 major cities. All that traveling gave me the biggest amount of inspiration you could imagine, so I got typing.

I found a magical platform called Medium and created a publication there called The Post-Grad Survival Guide. I didn’t think much of Medium–but I decided to post new stories there five times per week.

Since I started blogging there in October of 2016, I’ve garnered 18,000 followers, 70,000 monthly page views, and even got to star in a viral Facebook video made by NowThis.

What To Expect From My Blog

In this blog I really want to teach you how to make money blogging.

This blog is my life. It’s who I am. For anybody who wants to tell the 9-5 to f*ck off, welcome. For anybody who wants to make a little extra money blogging, welcome. For anybody who just wants to escape for a bit, WELCOME.

This is for you. You won’t find detailed posts about my upcoming trips or anything like that–just rock solid advice for monetizing your words so you can go on an adventure of your own.
