That’s it ^, right up there.

I wanted to go minimal because I’m no graphic designer. But don’t worry, there’s an actual URL to my site on the back of it.

ANYWAY. There’s the trip, folks! It went through many changes along the way. Four months ago I was actually dead-set on going to Europe (crazy, right?), but I’ve sinced re-gained my wits and focused instead on doing a more plausible road trip across the United States. Which still isn’t that plausible once you think about it.

When July 4th comes around I’ll be celebrating my Independence Day by, well, being independent.

New Orleans, Austin, and Los Angeles are really the big three of this trip. But the granddaddy of them all is San Francisco. My best friend and his family are allowing me to stay there with him for a few weeks, so I’ll learn all there is to know about the city by the end of it.

Oh! And I’m staying in hostels. I’ll be staying in the India House Hostel during my visit to New Orleans as well as the Firehouse Hostel in Austin. There’s also a few airbnb’s thrown in there for good measure along with the occasional couch surfing expedition. I can’t forget my good friend in Phoenix who’s also allowing me to stay with her for two nights.

There’s so much going on with this trip, but what can you expect from me by the time Independence Day comes around? A LOT.

I want to have detailed blog posts outlining:

  • My first impressions of each city
  • Reasons why you should visit (with information gathered from the locals)
  • Travel tips
  • My top 5 experiences in each city
  • Hostel Reviews
  • What it’s like to couchsurf

There will also be VIDEOS. I want to make a montage/mash up of for each city. I was even contemplating taking 360 videos for a while, but it’s probably just going to take me too much time.

It’s so surreal to be at the very edge of this thing. I’m scared, nervous, and excited all at the same time. Will I even make any friends? I’m sure I will make at least one. Who knows what will happen? All I know is, I’m excited. Thanks for listening!
